ROBERT KEITH MORRIS III Keith Morris is senior counsel with the Houston Office of Barron Newburger Sinsley and Wier, PLLC. Keith graduated from Texas A&M University in 1997 with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and received his J.D. in 2001 from the University of Houston Law Center. He was admitted to the Texas Bar in 2001 and is also admitted to all of the Federal and Bankruptcy Courts in Texas. Keith is an active member of the Houston Bar Association, Houston Association of Debtors Attorneys, Texas Trial Lawyers Association, and he is a former member of National Association of Consumer Advocates, and National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys.
Keith’s practice is focused on consumer and commercial litigation, probate, guardianship and estates, bankruptcy litigation and other general litigation. Keith is a frequent speaker on the topics of Probate and Guardianship, Debt and Credit and other consumer related issues, has written papers on The Servicemembers Civil Relief Act: Layers of Concern for Bankruptcy and Collection Lawyers, Norton Bankruptcy Law Adviser, December 2004 and is currently a contributing editor of Barron and Newburger’s Fair Debt Collection Practice Manual. Keith’s speaking engagements and presentation of papers has included the Texas Trial Lawyers, The People’s Law School, The American Legion, the Stonewall Lawyers Association, and the Houston Association of Debtor’s Attorneys.
Keith represents individuals, small businesses and corporations in litigation matters and has tried cases to verdict in such representation. Keith currently serves in a fiduciary capacity as Ad Litem, Administrator and Guardian for Harris County and dozens of other counties in Texas. He serves as a Guardian for elderly and incapacitated individuals that need assistance with their finances. His duties as an administrator include accounting for and safeguarding the assets of a decedent’s Estate, distributions to creditors, finding family members that may be heirs or have an interest in the Estate and winding up the Estate. Keith also serves as an ad litem for Harris County with regard to property tax foreclosures which entails investigating to determine if the taxing authority has assessed taxes on the correct property and if there exists a family member that may be responsible for paying the taxes. |
